Polaroid Alchemy: Emulsion Lift Workshop II
A second run of the sold-out workshop, inspired by the layers of myth and memory in Rush and led by artist Tania Kaaz. It’s archival science meets poetic storytelling. What gets framed, preserved, or blurred out of history? What memories will you revisit and transform?
Tear reality, twist time, and turn your instant photos into otherworldly, one-of-a-kind art. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about chaos, texture, and beauty born from the unexpected. Dive hands-first into your Polaroids and learn to lift, warp, and transfer their fragile emulsion onto paper, glass, wood, stone—or wherever your imagination takes you. Wrinkles, tears, accidents—they’re part of the magic.
No experience necessary—just bring curiosity and creativity. Come ready to play with chaos, create with abandon, and leave with your own ethereal Polaroid creations.

Meet our photographer
Tania Kaaz is a Denver-based fine art photographer whose work moves between realism and abstraction. Working primarily with analog film, she embraces traditional darkroom practices alongside experimental processes where negatives are altered with chemical and organic substances to create unpredictable distortions and textures. Her practice highlights the beauty that can emerge from chaos, damage, and transformation. Tania is also a member of Heads of Hydra, an experimental art collective dedicated to expanding creative consciousness, and the founder of Alter/Analog magazine, dedicated to alternative photographic processes.
